A new study revealed that the gamer of today does not fit the old stereotypes anymore. Dr. Nick Taylor, North Carolina State communications professor and lead author of the study, said that "this won't be a surprise to the gaming community, but it's worth telling everyone else. Loners are the outliers in gaming, not the norm." After attending different gaming events and surveying 400 World of Warcraft and company game lovers, Taylor said that they found that gamers were often exhibiting many social behaviors at once: watching games, talking, drinking, and chatting online. Gaming didn’t eliminate social interaction, it supplemented it.
