American consumers spent $1.77 billion between April and June 2013 in buying video game content, including full games and add-on content downloads, game subscriptions, mobile games and social network games. On top of that, add another $769 million in buying physical copies of new and PC games. It's not over– $343 million went to used and rental games. That's a total spending of $2.88 billion. A lot of money? Yes but still down by 3% when compared to the total spending in the same quarter last year, the NPD Group reported.
