The Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., opened a new pain care complex that aims to get rid of pain in young patients by using video games. With Microsoft's Kinect, specially designed games improve kids' health without taking notice that they are already receiving treatment. The game places kids in an 'intergalactic world' where they can paint, play and exercise, all while doctors analyze their range of motion. The game does not only serve as distraction but also target the kids' bodies just like a physical therapy session. This allows doctors to monitor not only heart rate or motion but come up with real-time adjustment on treatment based on kids' abilities. Watch how it works here: http://youtu.be/W-3Rh8m7oSk
