Video game sales are down by 9% last year, according to NPD. Consumers spent $14.8 billion on video game content in 2012, short by a few billions from 2011's $16.34 billion. However, while the overall sales are down, there's a 16% increase in digital games spending, an evidence that there's a changing trend from physical video games and software to online, mobile, and social network games.
